Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756-1791) was an Austriancomposer during the classical period. He was a child prodigy and became famous as a young boy, performing piano for kings, queens, and other rich people. He only lived to the age of 35 but during that time he wrote over 600 pieces of music.
This short video tells the story of his life.
One of his most famous pieces of music is known as "Eine Kleine Nachtmusik." I bet you've heard it before!
This next piece is called "Ronda Alla Turca" or "Turkish March." It's another of Mozart's best-known pieces of music.
Here's that same piece of music shown in colours and shapes.
Here's a street performer doing her own interpretation of "Rondo Alla Turca," blending it with another style of piano playing from much later called ragtime. (Ragtime wasn't invented until much later, in the late 1800's and early 1900's.)
Here's one more famous piece by Mozart, Symphony No. 40. It's one of only two symphonies that he wrote in a minor key.
