Elton John is one of the best-selling and most successful musicians ever. He would sometimes wear crazy glasses and outfits to make his performances more exciting. (Later, in the 1990's, he wrote the music for "The Lion King.")
Stevie Wonder made lots of funky music. He never let his blindness slow him down!
Disco was a popular kind of dance music in the 70's. Some famous disco bands were ABBA and The Bee Gees. (Other disco artists included The Village People, Gloria Gaynor, KC and the Sunshine Band, and Donna Summer.)
Rock and roll music got heavier in the 1970's. Led Zeppelin was a great 70's rock band that mixed light folk and blues with heavy rock.
Another great 70's rock band was Queen.
Music also became more experimental in the 1970's. Pink Floyd (one of my personal favourite bands) made thoughtful music that explored big ideas.
Neil Young is a world-famous Canadian musician who plays folk and rock music. After playing in some bands in the 60's, he went solo in the 70's.
Some other bands and artists from the 1970's are Fleetwood Mac, Boston, The Eagles. and Bill Withers.
And of course many of the artists from the 1960's continued to make music throughout the 70's too, like Paul Simon, James Brown, Michael Jackson, The Who, The Rolling Stones, and more.
